NGOSS Architecture

NGOSS Architecture focuses on several items, such as the creation of technology (i.e. platform) neutral models in advance of any technology specific work, the development of business, system and information/data views in collaboration with the eTOM, SID and Catalyst projects, and the specification of framework services. NGOSS Architecture guides and manages collaborative activities (i.e. with SID) leading to the development of formal UML models of such services.

 NGOSS Architecture and NGOSS

Definition of Architectural Elements Used to Construct NGOSS-Styled Solutions:
Business and System View Contracts described as part of the Technology Neutral Architecture (TNA) and delivered as part of the TNA suite of documents.  A Contract is the fundamental unit of interoperability within an NGOSS solution.

The NGOSS Technology Neutral Architecture provides the necessary structural underpinnings and building constructs to support the analysis, design, implementation and deployment of NGOSS-based open distributed computing solutions.

 Case Studies - NGOSS Architecture
Case Study-The Era of Major Security Threats/The OSS Perspective
As an outcome of the global situation the telecom network is under a constant threat. Unauthorized access, internal and external intrusions and other forms of attacks can spell downtime and major loss of revenue to the service provider’s organization. This presentation tackles those issues from the OSS perspective and presents case studies of different uses of OSS in the prevention, detection & recovery from major attacks.
Panel Session: Case Study-Mobile Operator's OSS Practice Using EAI
This two-part presentations demonstrates the integration of T-Mobile’s OSS, persueing the paradigm of data synchronization that also adresses concepts for bulk data transfer needed for initial population and data reconciliation. Attendees will be walked thorough our processes to understand our development of a new methodology that defines a general object model map and can be configured in an integration framework.
Panel Session: Case Study-EAI in NGOSS: A Migration for an IP OSS
This session is a case study based on a migration project of a classical IP OSS to a NGOSS-based architecture. The presentation Covers an array of topics including middleware evaluation, process evaluation, systems integration and lessons learned throughout the implementation.

TMF White Paper on NGOSS and MDA
This paper describes the similarities between the TMF’s NGOSS program and the OMG’s MDA initiative, and explains at a high-level how each could help the Enterprise and Service Provider communities to achieve increased return on technology investment.
OSS through Java Crosses the Chasm: Integration APIs Leap From Designs and Downloads to Implementations
As a result of these successful proofs, OSS/J compliance is becoming a key vendorevaluation factor for AT&T Wireless, British Telecommunications plc (BT), Covad Communications, Deutsche Telekom/T-Systems and Vodafone as they develop nextgeneration operation support system (OSS) software procurements.
Deployment Strategies Focusing on Massive Scalability
This paper demonstrates the OSS through JAVA (OSS/J) infrastructure's ability to handle very large scale OSS integration projects which could otherwise run into scalability problems, with the back-office applications taking on transaction loads for which they weren't designed.
