Consumer Electronics

There could be up to 1 trillion devices in the market in 15-20 years.

Fixed-mobile convergence should ultimately mean “any service, on any network, to any device,” but the lines among communications, music and TV have to blur before that is possible. In order for information and entertainment to be delivered according to customers’ preferences, there must exist standardize approaches for managing end-user devices (i.e., TV, PC, games consoles, mobile handsets).

Various collaborative groups within TM Forum are addressing questions about where demarcation points exist among stakeholders in the value chain, and whether common management approaches can be forged across multifarious devices.
